On my mother's side of the family, homemade bread is considered a form of art. It was one of those things I always thought, "I WISH I could!" Well, a few years ago, I tried. I have a Kitchen Aid and would quarter the recipe...because that is all the Kitchen Aid would hold. That made 2 loaves. So, I would slave in the kitchen for 3+ hours. You can't have hot bread come out of the oven and not have a slice, or two...okay...maybe even three. All that work...gone...and no bread to put in the cupboard to use for a later purpose. NOPE, not gonna do that again.
My parents gave me a Bosch machine for Christmas. I immediately came home, bought some bread flour, and went to work. I can now make 5-6 loaves of bread per batch. Two to eat out of the oven, 1 to store and 2 left to freeze. BEAUTIFUL!

A BOSCH?!?!?!?! Color me jealous!!! :-) (We have the same problem, but the recipe makes 4 loaves... it's still gone before the pans are clean most of the time, LOL!)
Enjoy your mixer and the fruits (well, breads... fruitbreads? breadfruits?) thereof! ;-)
Mandie that bread looks sooooo good, and homemade strawberry jam. Yummmm.
IMPRESSIVE!!!! I can totally hear Nan right now, "Oh Art.....look at that!"
Then she'd sorta do that mouth thing...where she'd smack her lips, and she'd raise her eyebrows.
I am so jealous. There are a lot of 'homemaker' genes that seemed to skip me--bread making, cake decorating, crafts, scrapbooking. Enjoy being in that club, hun, you deserve a round of applause.
Yummy!!! Great minds think alike cause I just used my bosch the other day and made 5 loaves of Bread too. 4 out of the 5 of mine looked good but in my defence I did 2 little helpers.
Nummy yummy! I'm impressed!
I can't make bread, OR crochet. Do I really belong to this family? I think I was adopted from aliens. That bread looks SCRUMPTIOUS!!!!!!!
WOW!!! This is my weakness, homemade bread! Give me loaf and I could endeavor the whole thing. Looks like you do an awesome job.
Way to go! My grandma was the bread maker to end all bread makers in our family. She was known for miles around for her cinnamon rolls. I've managed to find a few recipes that come close. If you want a great whole wheat recipe to try in that new Bosch give me a call. It's so light...just like that bread in the photos looks. Yummy.
BTW, I'm jealous of the new Bosch. I've only got a Bosch wanna be. At least it works.
Wow! I'm impressed! It looks so yummy! I've started making bread... but I use my bread machine :o) It's cheating, I know.
I just made bread in my bosche today too. Isn't it wonderful?? I definitely had at least 4 pieces. Maybe that's why I wasn't so hungry for dinner....
Mmmm! I'm jealous, although I shouldn't be! I have a Bosch (well...a Dimension...they got put out of business by Bosch because the stole their design or something like that)...anyway, I haven't made homemade bread forever! And yes, I could totally smell it! lol Topping it off with homemade strawberry jam...mmm...I just might have to actually find some time and make some bread!
Mmmmmm I am drooling! Of course i haven't had anything but ginger ale and saltines in almost 48 hours.. but i think i would be drooling anyways.
Mind sharing your recipe?
So seriously, I was JUST telling Jonny that I should start making homemade bread. However, I've never done it before, so I am going to have to beg you to come and teach me how! That looks so yummy!
Oh my yummy!! I'm in the same boat as you. I have a kitchen aid and it only makes 2 loaves at a time. I find myself making a batch and then 1 week later buying some and then 1 week later making it again. I need to start saving for a bosch I guess. I want the recipe by the way
I still use my kitchen aid. Bread goes a lot further now that we are out of strawberry jam. I agree, Nan would be VERY proud.
I'm so proud of you! One of my personal progress goals was to make bread that was good enough to give to Nan. Enjoy your bread & have a slice for me.
