I've seen a lot of neat stuff come through at Hobby Lobby, but then, you don't have one of those...anyway, about a princess tea party: Go to Goodwill, DI, etc, and find several old hats, boas, scarfs, high-heeled shoes, etc., add some Dollar Store white cotton gloves and put it all in a big box. When the girls arrive, have them "dress-up" in their "party clothes". Let the girls wear their gloves and hats while you serve "tea" (punch in tea cups) and cake.
I really wish I could help but my partie are strictly pirates and scooby doo these days :) Your blog is super cute by the way! How is your sweet little family?
I've heard of kids making wands with wooden dowels. They decorate with all the fun stuff... glitter, glue, ribbon. I would prep the dowles first with some gold or silver spray paint, then let them decorate them. After they decorate the wands, they could play the classic duck duck goose using their wands to tap the heads of the kids. You could change it to...frog, frog, prince. Good luck!
Love Angie's idea...here's another one--princess hats. Form "cones" out of poster board and let the girls decorate their "crowns". Add some streamers from the top for extra effect. Also, check Disney.com for some ideas--I swear I heard a little ditty about a "princess party" on one of their between show commercials.
I have absolutely no idea how to help! Since I have a while to prepare for my "Princess" Party I know who I'll be asking for advice! Don't forget the "Prince's" if any are coming! They need a sword or something to "Protect" Their Lady Fair! Paper towel rolls work great for that! And cute idea about the dowles, but remember what age you are dealing with! OUCH!! Call me if you need any help in BL in July!
Check out familyfun.com they usually have lots of ideas. But remember when they are that little one or two games is good and then they just want to play. We did kiss the frog once. It was like pin the tail on the donkey but a frog and lips instead of a tail.
*Deciding what kind of pizza to order...."I want chicken nugget pizza," exclaims Maycie! *Maycie correcting me, "My name is NOT Maycie, it is Princess!" Well, excuse me, your majesty!!
Dad Anderson is busy, Mom Anderson is going crazy, Girl Anderson is the one making Mom Anderson crazy, and Boy Anderson is helping!
P.S. Life is GREAT!
