Oh where, oh where has our little frog gone?

Let's go back in time, say about one year. Con and I were in the hospital where I had just given birth to our little boy. My mom and dad bring Maycie to see the new baby. My mom walks in and has this look on her face like somebody died. She says, "Mandie, I went to feed your frog last night, and it wasn't in the bowl." (We had the little African dwarf frogs that live in a fish bowl). Hhmm! What do you mean it wasn't in the bowl? It must have jumped out and ventured off to froggy land because we still have not found it, nor smelt it! My poor mom stressed over a $2.39 frog.

Anyways, the Anderson family has grieved and mourned for the last year. We finally feel we can accept the fact that our old frog is gone, and get a new one. So, we did. Maycie's first pet (we had the last one before she was born, so technically, it wasn't hers). We asked her what she wanted to name it, "Frog!" Wow, Maycie, that one's original, you're a creative thinker! We also got a female beta to keep it company. Nobody likes to be alone. Anyways, I went to go get my camera (it was a scrapbook moment...Maycie's first pet), and when I came back, she had her arms around the bowl. "Maycie, what ya' doin'?" "Giving frog a hug." Oh, isn't that sweet. I am just waiting for the day when I walk into the kitchen and she is doing just that...without the bowl...YIKES!

I just love what kids say! That is so funny that she wanted to give her frog a hug. Tayson wants a fish really bad. We are still working on potty training so that is his treat if he goes.
